16 AAA

 

 

In the Malian region of Kayes, 9 operational Self-Managed Aliniha Associations (AAA) are members of the Inter-AAA Jeduman and the micro-finance institution Bensoo Jamaanu 

. Kobocoro's AAA (2011), chaired by Mme Selikene Kone, regroups 330 women.

Situated in the municipality of Liberté Dembaya, the AAA manages a plant nursery, several market gardens and a very successful Aliniha Hut. It is also looking at setting up a market garden. The women are taught how to make soap. Each does some trading (such as selling peanuts, seasoning, incense, second-hand clothes or groceries) and cooked preparations (djouka, macaroni, fritters). In the villages of Kobocoro and Tieblembougou, several parcels of land have been re-planted. 

. Coordination des femmes de Samé (coordination of the women of Samé 1993), chaired by Mme Mariam Sissoko, regroups more than 2000 women.

Situated in the municipality of Samé Diongoma, this AAA manages several market gardens, a major counter for the Benso Jamaanu MFB, and is considering creating a small-scale dairy. In 2013, major plans were drawn up to ensure the operational and financial success of the dairy. The women each do some trading, prepare food, raise animals, make pottery, gather and sew. They have re-planted several parcels of land, organise joint cleaning operations and fight against the erosion of certain zones.

. Plateau's AAA (2011), chaired by Mme Coumba Sidibe, regroups 381 women.

Situated in the municipality of Kayes, this AAA manages Déco-Vert, a group of economic interest (GEI) that collects the neighbourhood’s household waste. The women each do some trading (jam, popcorn and fruit juice). Plateau’s ambition is to manage an Aliniha Hut.

. Benkadi's AAA (2011), chaired by Mme Adjaratou Keita, regroups 149 women.

Situated in the municipality of Kayes, this AAA manages a shared peanut plantation. The women each have different activities: dyeing, incense, fruit, sewing, local sales of loincloths, shoes, skins, seasoning, poultry, etc. Benkadi’s ambition is to set up a market garden and an Aliniha Hut. Several parcels of land have been replanted. 

. Benkadi-Sirela's AAA (2011), chaired by Mme Nielé Diarra, regroups 144 women.

Situated in the municipality of Liberté Dembaya, this AAA manages a market garden and an Aliniha Hut that sells all sorts of basic articles. The women each do some trading, extracting gravel, re-selling coal, winter agriculture and market gardening. Several parcels have been re-planted.  

. Khasso's AAA (2011), chaired by Mme Coumba Sy, regroups 178 women.

Situated in the municipality of Kayes, this AAA manages the "Fily Dembele" kindergarten which has seen strong growth. From the 18 children welcomed in the 2011-2012 school year it has grown to 138 children in 2012-2013, of which about 60 are young girls. So Khasso is considering the possibility of adding primary school classes. What’s more, the AAA has built three shops in the kindergarten’s courtyard that it rents out and created a plant nursery with some 1 400 trees. 

. Kersignané's AAA (2013), chaired by Mme Maïmouna Bah, regroups 244 women.

Located in the municipality of Khouloum, the village is home to Peul nomads whose children lead animals to their pastures. After some training, flour gruel was incorporated into the child shepherds’ diets to complete their diet of couscous and dairy milk. Utensils for washing hands were also added to the women’s daughter’s wedding packages. The AAA women do some trading and sell milk. They organise clean-up days.

. Cèsiri Ton's AAA (2013), chaired by MmeMarie Joseph Diallo, regroups 200 women. 

Located in the municipality of Kayes, this AAA organises clean-up days. The women do some trading and agro-food production.

 

. Babala Jèkafo (2014), chaired by Mme Mariam Traoré, regroups 110 women.

Located in Babala, this AAA mostly manages a collective field for wintering and carries out market gardening. The women individually sell products from market gardening and gathering.

 

In the region of Tambacounda, Senegal, 4 operational Self-Managed Aliniha Associations (AAA) are members of the Inter-AAA Arafat and the micro-finance institution Jekabara

. Benkadi's AAA (2011), chaired by Mme Astou Cissokho, regroups 90 women.

Situated in the municipality of Tambacounda, this AAA regularly organises "SetSetal" days (collective cleaning-up operations in public places). One of its ambitions is to manage an Aliniha Hut. The women make preparations based on cereal.

. Hermakono's AAA (2011), chaired by Mme Ramata Diop, regroups 120 women.

Located in the municipality of Kotiary, this AAA runs a market garden and inaugurated an Aliniha Hut in June 2013. The women manage the weekly market (Louma) and each sells cereal as well as cooked goods (fruit of the baobab tree, peanut butter).  

. And Ligueye's AAA (2011), chaired by Mme Fatouma Koita, regroups 116 women.

Situated in the municipality of Tambacounda, this AAA produces and sells soap. Its ambition is to manage an Aliniha Hut. The members have different economic activities: poultry sales, transformation and sale of fruit and juice, cereals, etc.

. Nétéboulou (2014), chaired by Mme Djali Sira Soumani, regroups 159 women.

Located in the village of Nétéboulou, the women run a market garden and sell poultry.

. Niakh Djariniou (2014), chaired by Mme Fatoumata Binta Ba, regroups 126 women.

Located in Quartier Gourel in Tambacounda, the women process and sell cereal. They recycle plastic bags.

. And Juubo (2014), chaired by Mme Diamilatou Diallo, regroups 70 women.

Located in Quartier Afia de Tambacounda, the women transform and sell cereal (mougou-mougou, couscous).
